An Update on Our Veterinary Team at West Park
Dear West Park Family,
We want you to hear this from us first: after three and a half years with our hospital, Dr. Reitz will be moving on from her full-time role at West Park Animal Hospital. Her last full day with us will be December 1st. She is joining a clinic closer to her home, which is about an hour’s commute, and while we will miss her daily presence, we are happy for her and grateful for the care she has given our patients and clients.
What this means for your pet
Continuity of care matters to us, and we are working closely with Dr. Reitz to make this transition as smooth as possible. Dr. Churchill and Dr. Ellis will be taking over the care of her patients. Our doctors routinely hold rounds, case reviews and patient transfers with one another, so both are already familiar with many of our patients. As always, your pet's doctor reviews their full medical history before every visit, and our approach to medicine remains the same: evidence-based, individualized to each pet, and delivered with low-stress handling.
Acupuncture and rehabilitation
Dr. Reitz plans to continue seeing a limited number of patients at West Park one to two days each month, and may offer house calls for some acupuncture and rehabilitation patients. If your pet is currently receiving either of these services, please let us know at 813-749-6863 or contact@westpark.vet, and we will help you put together the best plan for your pet moving forward.
Looking ahead
Our team remains committed to compassionate care and modern medicine for every patient who walks through our doors, and we are in the process of searching for another veterinarian to join our team. We will share news as it develops.
